About Us

The Mining Equipment & Services Council (MESCA) was formed in Queensland in 1995, a joint incentive of the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) and the Queensland Government.  Both of these entities being keen to promote dialogue between suppliers to the mining industry and mining companies as well as promote Australian contents into the sector.

Since its inception MESCA has provided a unique networking and information service to its members.  Regular briefings are held in Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Brisbane, Newcastle / Maitland, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.  Briefings not only offer the opportunity to be informed of current projects but also the chance to network with other suppliers to the industry as well as key industry players.

MESCA also provides its members with Project Updates and monthly Bulletins.  Project Updates give a listing of coal and mineral mining projects, energy projects and infrastructure projects and are produced on a State by State basis for Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria / Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia as well as South East Asia.  MESCA Bulletins, both national and international, are a listing of current news items relative to the industry.

In 2008 MESCA changed name to become the Mining & Energy Services Council of Australia, allowing us to keep the acronym MESCA, our name now reflects the full spectrum of our focus - namely mining and power production.
