Green light for next stage of Ichthys LNG Project

Australia’s offshore regulator has approved construction of the next stage of INPEX’s Ichthys LNG Project.

Pipeliner is reporting the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) has given gave Japanese-based INPEX the green light to proceed with the construction and installation of new infrastructure to connect approximately 15 new wells in the offshore Browse Basin to its existing project.

The scope of works approved includes the installation, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning of umbilicals, risers and flowlines (URF) infrastructure, as well as the connection of this infrastructure to the existing subsea and offshore facilities.
