$2b wind farm to create 400 jobs


A PROPOSED $2 billion wind farm project for North Queensland could create up to 400 construction jobs and would aim to deliver cheaper power.

The Courier-Mail is reporting the North Queensland Renewable Energy Zone (NQREZ) has secured land for the Mount James Wind Farm about 80km north of Hughenden.

The proposed 1000MW farm would include 200 wind turbines and could plug into the proposed multi-billion Copperstring 2.0 project that wants to develop a large-scale transmission network to connect the North West Minerals Province with Townsville.
