FMG awards $138m contract for Eliwana rail

NRW Holdings’ newly-acquired subsidiary BGC Contracting has secured a major infrastructure contract with Fortescue Metals Group in Western Australia.

Australian Mining is reporting that the $138 million contract will support the development of 143 kilometres of rail for the Eliwana iron ore mine and rail project in the Pilbara region.

BGC’s works will include constructing 65 kilometres of rail formation such as earthworks, roadworks, drainage works and bridge and precast structure construction.
